LAWS concerning CONCEALED/CLOSED ADOPTION RECORDS should be REPEALED! The cruelty of these laws adversely affects everybody impacted by adoption. Even in so-called open adoption the child's records remains concealed.
Judges, lawyers, and social workers mostly--since usually these are the folks who oversee adoptions' legal procedure and records' management--are bitterly afraid of being exposed because of the lies and false accusations they write about any given natural mother, of the child being adopted, in the record. Since they have the most information then these are the folks with the most to lose as per adoption records being opened by any method which includes REPEAL of the CLOSED-RECORDS LAWS.
Still-in-all, adoption's closed-records laws should be repealed!
